IMPORTANT:    The Nomination Period begins at 9:00 am on Tuesday, August 30 and closes at 4:00 pm on Friday, September 9, when nomination documents must be filed with the Chief Election Officer at Municipal Hall.

Candidate Nomination Packages

Candidate nomination packages are now available for those interested in running for the office of: 

  • Mayor (1 to be elected);
  • Councillor (6 to be elected); or
  • School Trustee (2 to be elected).

Please email to request a package or stop by Municipal Hall (open 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays) to pick up one.

Please note that the completed nomination documents must be received by the Chief Election Officer at Municipal Hall (1620 Mills Rd.) no later than 4:00 pm, Friday, September 9, 2022.

Candidate Qualifications

Persons qualified to run for office must be:

  • age 18 or older;
  • a Canadian Citizen;
  • a resident of BC for at least 6 months; and
  • not be disqualified by any statute or law from being nominated, elected or holding office.

Prospective candidates must be nominated by at least two eligible electors from the District of North Saanich. 

Individuals interested in running for School Trustee (School District No. 63) can obtain more information from the Ministry of Education.
