Kalitan Road Drainage Assessment
June 23, 2026 Update
The District of North Saanich has commissioned specialized engineering consulting services from R.F. Binnie to evaluate the Kalitan Road drainage area catchment. This assessment identifies capacity, system deficiencies, and upgrade requirements as part of the broader ongoing updates to the district’s Drainage Master Plan.
Project Context & Recent Updates
The Study: The assessment analyzes the specific watercourse running through the Kalitan Road area, including where storm drainage transitions from an open ditch into a closed pipe system.
Master Plan Integration: The assessment ties into the broader Drainage Master Plan & Tseycum Creek ISMP and is designed to identify system deficiencies and prepare the district for climate change impacts.
Project Status: The engineering contract for the Kalitan Road area drainage assessment was awarded in late Summer 2026 and will inform any capital upgrades for 2027.
