Green Waste Facility extends hours for May 26, 27, and 28

The District of North Saanich is extending the hours of operation at its Green Waste Facility this week to help residents who are tidying up their yards in the aftermath of last week’s high winds.

Residents are invited to drop off tree branches (as well as grass clippings, garden debris, or small stumps) from their properties on:

  • Thursday, May 26, 8:00 am – 3:30 pm
  • Friday, May 27, 8:00 am – 3:30 pm
  • Saturday, May 28, 8:00 am – 3:30 pm

The Green Waste Facility is located around the corner from Municipal Hall, at 10180 Littlewood Road.

Rates for dropping off green waste at the facility are $7.00 / car and $15.00 / pickup or utility trailer.

The disposal of branches (and other green waste) from residents’ properties now, rather than later in the summer, is a helpful measure as residents prepare for wildfire season.

The District of North Saanich Fire Department notes that cleaning up tree debris as part of one’s springtime yard maintenance is recommended as a FireSmart best practice. For more information about reducing the potential impacts of wildfire on your home, visit firesmartbc.ca/.

Residents are reminded that the District does not provide curbside pick-up of green waste.
