Heritage Week February 16-22, 2026
We invite you to celebrate BC Heritage Week this week from Feb. 16 to 22. This year’s theme is Stir the Pot, chosen to highlight the ways in which food brings people together through tradition, community, family, culture, nourishment, and more.
Stop by Municipal Hall this week to view a display on the history of the Sunset Riding Club, a long-standing North Saanich horse riding club with deep roots in our community.
The display features a number of fascinating historical items and photos, and we’re especially grateful to Jo Doman, who kindly lent several pieces from her personal collection to help bring this history to life.
You’re invited to stop by and check it out – it will be on display through the end of the day this Friday.
There is a wonderful mix of online and in-person Heritage Week events happening across the province to celebrate, including an in-person Afro-Brazilian Dance event in Sooke on Wednesday, February 18, from 6:30 – 7:30pm.
