Updated Draft Response Letter and July 29 Meeting Agenda Now Available
The District has updated its draft response letter to the Minister of Housing and Municipal Affairs regarding the Province’s proposed Housing Supply Act directives and enhanced reporting requirements for the District of North Saanich. The updated draft is based on input from residents, Council, and staff’s review of the Minister’s June 16, 2026, letter and the Provincial Advisor’s report.
Council and staff would like to thank everyone who submitted comments, attended Council meetings and took the time to share their perspectives. The District received a significant amount of feedback and recognizes the importance of housing and land use to the community.
Residents will have one final opportunity to speak directly to Council about the updated draft response letter during the public Council meeting on Wednesday, July 29. As the Province has set a firm submission deadline, Council’s July 29 meeting is the last opportunity for public input before the letter is finalized.
