Dog Licences

All dogs over the age of six months must be licensed in the District of North Saanich. Once licensed, your dog will be issued a new tag each year you renew the license.

Etched on the tag is the Municipal Hall phone number that will help reunite you with your dog, if it ever becomes lost. Every year, many dogs are quickly reunited with their owners because they were found wearing a current dog tag. Many of these reunions occurred without requiring a trip to the Pound or payment of an impound fee. Having a current dog license is simply the fastest way to reunite you with your dog, if it ever strays from home.

Dog licences (also referred to as pet licenses) must be renewed annually, and are valid for the calendar year from January to December. The District will send out renewal notices each December. Payment for the annual licence is due by the last business day in February. After this date, a $5.00 late-fee will be charged.

To register for a new dog licence, please complete this form, and return to the Finance Department at the Municipal Hall. Only dogs residing in North Saanich require a licence from the District of North Saanich.

The annual cost of a dog licence is:
