Candidate Information Session
The District is pleased to offer a Candidate Information Session to give candidates and others an introduction to what is involved in being a member of North Saanich Council. The presenter, Allison Habkirk, former Mayor and Councillor of Central Saanich, will give insightful information about what it is like to be on Council.
While the session is specific to those running for office, members of the public interested in local government are welcome to attend.
Where: North Saanich Municipal Hall Council Chambers – 1620 Mills Road
When: Thursday, September 8, 2022 at 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Key topics to be covered include:
- What is the role of an elected official
- What is expected of you?
- What can you expect?
- Some important things you need to know about the work of Council such as: responsible behavior, decision making, closed meetings, conflict of interest and confidentiality.
