- Blasting is a heavily regulated industry governed by WorkSafeBC
- Only a certified blaster may apply for a blasting permit.
A complete application includes:
- Complete application form.
- An approved Building Permit or an approved Engineering Servicing Drawing, must be in place prior to applying for a Blasting Permit.
- Proof of Insurance by your Insurance Agent, indicating $5,000,000 liability coverage.
- A valid North Saanich Business Licence.
Submit your complete application to Infrastructure Services at the Municipal Hall.

Tree Cutting and Removal ApplicationA property owner may remove 5 trees over 8” diameter and 25 trees between 4” and 8” diameter per acre per calendar year, however they are still required to submit an application form. There is no fee required for this type of application. Trees that are dead, diseased or dying, or tree removal required for development will require a permit and associated fees.
A complete application includes:
- A complete application form
- A site plan
- A list of tree species proposed to be removed
A site inspection will be conducted by a Building Inspector subsequent to an application being received.
