New Monthly Scam Alert Videos
The District of North Saanich has partnered with The Town of Sidney and the Sidney/North Saanich RCMP to produce monthly videos as part of an education/awareness campaign to help residents protect themselves against the latest scams.
This month’s video is the second in the series and offers helpful tips on how to identify and prevent bank scams. The first episode was released in December last year and was geared towards seasonal scams and what to be aware of when making online purchases.

Tips for protecting yourself
- If you feel you are on the verge of being victimized, take a step back and reach out to a trusted person or an official source for advice.
- Do not respond to unsolicited emails, texts or phone calls with urgent or coercive demands. If it sounds too good to be true, it is usually fake.
- Don’t feel pressured into providing personal information or money.
