No swimming advisory for Chalet Beach – Tatlow Beach Access
August 1, 2023
A no-swimming advisory has been issued for the Chalet Beach, Tatlow Beach Access. Water tests indicate high levels of bacteria, making the area unsafe for swimming and other water contact activities. Signage is posted and will remain in place until bacteria levels drop. Residents and pets are advised not to enter the water.
The beach sampling program is active each year between mid-May to September. Each summer, Environmental Health Officers review water quality results from samples taken at popular beach areas and Island Health monitors water quality at swimming destinations on the Island. As a result, there are times when various beaches on the Island have advisories or closures.
Further details are available on the Island Health website.
