North Saanich Launches Citizen Engagement Strategy: Seeking Community Feedback to Improve Engagement

  • News

North Saanich, BC – The District of North Saanich is excited to announce the launch of a new initiative to develop a comprehensive Citizen Engagement Strategy. This strategy will serve as a framework to enhance how the District communicates with and engages residents, ensuring transparency, trust, and meaningful public involvement in local decision-making.

Why This Matters
As our community grows and changes, it’s essential that the District has a robust engagement strategy in place to ensure residents have a voice in shaping the future of North Saanich. The Citizen Engagement Strategy will guide how the District communicates with residents, seeks input on projects, and provides clear, transparent updates on important initiatives.

“Developing a comprehensive engagement strategy is critical to ensuring that residents feel informed, heard, and empowered to participate in the decision-making process,” said District of North Saanich Mayor Peter Jones. “We are committed to improving the way we engage with the community, and we need the help of residents to make this strategy as effective as possible.”

Have Your Say!
We encourage all residents to get involved by participating in the survey, attending the Open House, or visiting one of our pop-up events in October. Your feedback will directly influence how the District engages with you in the future.

Survey Now Open: September 10 – October 10
Residents are invited to share their feedback through a community-wide survey, available online from September 10 to October 10. This survey will help the District understand the community’s preferences for engagement and communication, providing valuable input for the creation of a strategy that works for everyone.

Open House: September 25 at Municipal Hall
In addition to the survey, the District will be hosting an Open House at Municipal Hall on September 25 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity for residents to learn more about the Public Participation Strategy, meet with staff, and share their thoughts in person.

Community Pop-Ups in Early October
We will also be holding community pop-up events in early October at various locations throughout North Saanich. These pop-ups are designed to meet residents where they are, making it easier for everyone to participate and provide their input.
