Parks Master Plan Survey Extended!

Thank you to everyone who has participated in the Parks Master Plan (PMP) so far. Your input is crucial in shaping our parks. To ensure everyone has a voice, we’re extending the feedback deadline on the North Saanich Parks Master Plan to Friday, July 19. Your ideas will help us create parks that reflect our community’s needs and values. Don’t miss this chance to make a difference! 🌳

Our DRAFT for the new Parks Master Plan provides strategic guidance for parks policy, planning, and development, focusing on environmental protection and preserving our community’s rural charm. 🌿

Here’s how we got here:

1. Completed an assessment of our park system.
2. Created a State of the Parks report & environmental study.
3. Gathered public input through surveys, stakeholder sessions, and an open house.

The Draft PMP includes:

1. A vision statement, goals, and objectives.
2. Insights on park trends and best practices.
3. 40 recommendations for planning, capital improvements, partnerships, and communications.

Next up: After completing Phase 2 of public engagement, the recommendations will be prioritized for implementation. The PMP will be reviewed every five years, and all projects need Council approval. The final plan will guide our capital budgeting with a phased implementation plan.
