I am a fourth-term Councillor, having been elected three times (2011, 2014 and 2022), and acclaimed in 2018. Since 2011, I have been constant in my work for, and support of, maintaining and enhancing our rural and agricultural nature/vision.
In 2006, I made my home in the Ardmore area of our beautiful District. Dedicated to our treasured community, and its residents, I am honoured to be working for and serving all North Saanich citizens.
Early in my 38 year career with the Government of Canada, I lived and worked for ten years “North of 60” in the NWT and the Yukon, including service as an Alderman on City of Yellowknife Council.
To our Council, I bring not only my breadth of experience as a Public Service executive, but also my collaborative and negotiating skills which I honed working on negotiations both with First Nations in the BC Treaty Process, and pursuant to federal Comprehensive Claims and Self-government policies across Canada.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Concordia University in Montreal, and am a graduate of Queens University Executive Public Administration Program. Music plays a large role in my life, and I have been a member of the Peninsula Singers since 2010.
Working as a volunteer has always been part of my life. This culminated in working as a Volunteer on the Heads of State Visits Programme/Team for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
My regional responsibilities for the 2022-2026 term include:
- Indigenous Consultation Working Group
- Municipal Insurance Association of BC
- Regional Housing Trust Fund Commission
- Regional Water Supply Commission
