Proclamation for National Drowning Prevention Week 2023

Mayor Peter Jones signed a proclamation declaring the week of July 16-22 , 2023 National Drowning Prevention Week.

The Lifesaving Society designates the third week in July as National Drowning Prevention Week (NDPW) to focus attention on the drowning problem and drowning prevention. NDPW provides an opportunity for local Water Smart® experts to promote the Society’s messages of safety on the water and to encourage everyone to think ahead before heading for their favourite lake or river.
