Proclamation for Purple Day (Epilepsy Awareness)

In honour of Epilepsy Awareness Month, Mayor Peter Jones has signed a proclamation recognizing Purple Day on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. Let’s take time to educate ourselves about epilepsy, raise awareness, and support and protect those who live with it.

Epilepsy is a neurological disorder of the central nervous system, specifically of the brain, and is characterized by the tendency to have recurrent seizures. It is estimated that about 260,000 Canadians have epilepsy.

💜 Want to participate? Become a Purple Day Ambassador by wearing purple on March 26!
