Water Main Leak Repair – McTavish Road (Saanich Peninsula)

Victoria, BC – The Capital Regional District (CRD) will be repairing a water main leak on a portion of the primary transmission main serving the Saanich Peninsula water system on McTavish Road near East Saanich Road. 

The following communities will be impacted by the repair: Sidney, North Saanich, WSIKEM (Tseycum First Nation), BOKECEN (Pauquachin First Nation). Residents in the impacted areas may experience reduced water pressure and are asked to reduce water use where possible over the next several days until the transmission main repair is complete. 

During the repair, water flow to the north end of the Saanich Peninsula may be reduced and the water distribution systems in the impacted communities will relay on water stored in the McTavish, Dean Park, and Cloake Hill Reservoirs. 

Every effort will be made to minimize the impacts during the repair. The CRD will provide repair progress updates via social media and will issue a revised public service announcement once the repair is complete, and normal water use can resume.
