Loneliness and Isolation survey

  • News

In our continuous efforts to support a healthy, vibrant, and connected community, we are addressing the crucial issues of loneliness and social isolation among our residents.

Background

During the September 23 regular meeting, Councillor Sanjiv Shrivastava introduced a notice of motion that was subsequently approved by Council. This motion sets the groundwork for understanding and addressing the needs related to loneliness and social isolation within our community.

Project Objectives

  1. Conduct a Survey: We are conducting a brief survey, developed in alignment with the questions posed in the notice of motion, to gauge the levels of loneliness and social isolation among the residents of North Saanich.
  2. Community Feedback: The survey and its findings will be presented to the Healthy Community Living Advisory Committee for feedback, comments, and further discussion.
  3. Evaluate Community Needs: Based on the survey results and committee feedback, we will evaluate the necessity and potential scope for establishing a community gathering center aimed at fostering social connections among residents.

Take the Survey

We invite all residents of North Saanich to participate in this important survey. Your responses are vital in helping us understand the extent of loneliness and social isolation in our community and in identifying ways we can address these issues together.

** For this survey, and all subsequent District of North Saanich surveys, we are using the Registered Single participation type, which requires all respondents to register and activate their accounts before participating. This ensures more reliable data, and limits participants to one submission.
