I have been living in North Saanich with my wife since 2015.
I grew up in Kenya and Zambia, earned my doctorate in physics in South Africa, where I also worked as a university professor for over two decades.
I bring to the council my experience of working in a wide variety of collaborative contexts, from fundamental science research, to citizen science projects, to inner city youth empowerment. Our verdant island home has also inspired me to develop a keen interest in gardening and photography.
My guiding philosophy derives from compassion, being open to serendipity, and Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the whole world is family).
As Councillor, my responsibilities during the 2022-26 term include:
- Agriculture and Food Security Advisory Committee
- Indigenous Consultation Working Group
- Peninsula Streams Society
- Sandown Centre for Regenerative Agriculture
- Saanich Peninsula Wastewater Commission
- Saanich Peninsula Water Commission
- South Island Prosperity Project
