Tseycum Creek Draft Stormwater Management Plan – engagement opportunities
This summer, North Saanich residents are invited to learn more about the District of North Saanich’s development of an Integrated Stormwater Management Plan (ISMP) for the Tseycum Creek watershed.
Residents are welcome to attend an online information session about the draft ISMP on Thursday, July 21 from 10:30 am – 12:00 pm. Those interested in attending should email connect@northsaanich.ca to register.
Residents are also invited to provide their feedback on the topic of the ISMP through an online comment form hosted on the District’s engagement project page (connectnorthsaanich.ca/drainage). Residents may submit their feedback on the form until July 29.
The public engagement activities are a key feature of Phase 2 of the engagement process, which is an opportunity for the Project Team to share highlights of the draft ISMP and meet with local First Nations, interest groups, key stakeholders, and property owners.
The ISMP is intended to help the District better understand the relationship between drainage servicing, land use, and the environment, and will help the District manage its stormwater through recommended drainage infrastructure improvements and best practices that preserve how our ecosystem functions. The ISMP is being completed as part of the District’s overall asset management program.
Residents can learn more about the draft ISMP and what it means for their community at connectnorthsaanich.ca/drainage.
In addition to the online comment form, the page includes FAQs, a timeline, and links to documents that provide a comprehensive overview of the project .
