Tree Removal Permits

The District has adopted a new Tree Protection Bylaw, effective October 3, 2022. The new bylaw aligns with current best practices and conditions, while ensuring that it reflects the values of the community. This bylaw aims to find a balanced approach to protect the District’s tree canopy for current and future residents, while providing some flexibility for residents to manage the trees on private property.

A tree permit is required to remove any trees regulated by the District’s Tree Protection Bylaw, and can be obtained on our website or in person at the Municipal Hall at 1620 Mills Road.

Permit fees will be determined during the review of your application. Fees will vary, depending on whether your application is for residential or development purposes.
