As per District of North Saanich Animal Control Bylaw no. 751 all dogs over the age of six months must be licenced in the District of North Saanich.
Dog licences (also referred to as pet licences) must be renewed annually, and are valid for the calendar year from January to December. The District sends out renewal invoices at the beginning of each year.
A new tag will be issued each year upon renewal. A $5.00 late-fee will be charged if the due date on the renewal invoice is missed.
Etched on the tag is the Municipal Hall phone number 250-656-0781. Every year dogs are quickly reunited with their owners because they were found wearing a current dog tag. Many of these reunions occur without a trip to the Pound or payment of an impound fee. Having a current dog licence is the fastest way to reunite you with your dog.
To register for a new dog licence, please complete the dog licence application form, and return to the Finance Department at the Municipal Hall in person or email it to firstname.lastname@example.org. Only dogs residing in North Saanich require a licence from the District of North Saanich.
The annual cost of a dog licence is:

Please advise the District of any changes by noting it on the remittance portion of your invoice or emailing email@example.com.
BY MAIL: Submit the remittance portion of your renewal invoice with your cheque. Your canceled cheque is your receipt.
